Group Product Line Manager

You will coach and develop product management talent while partnering closely with business development, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing leaders to accelerate growth, improve profitability, and deliver customer‑focused optical solutions. This role combines leading a team to drive a strategic portfolio and engagement with customers and internal stakeholders.
Location: This is an onsite role based at either our Eden Prairie, Minnesota or Hudson, Wisconsin locations.

What You Will Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Line Managers and Associate Product Line Managers, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance goals.
- Own the product portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with business unit objectives, market trends, and customer requirements.
- Guide roadmap development, lifecycle management, and portfolio optimization to drive profitable growth and long‑term competitiveness.
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing leadership to prioritize investments, support new product development, and ensure successful product launches.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing leaders to strengthen value propositions, pricing strategies, and commercialization plans across the portfolio.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product performance, margin, growth, and execution excellence.
- Act as an escalation point for complex customer engagements, supporting strategic accounts, pricing decisions, and solution development.
- Drive continuous improvement in product management processes, tools, and best practices across the team.
- Interface with manufacturing plants to support cost reduction initiatives, capacity planning, and quality improvements at a portfolio level.
- Coach Product Managers on customer segmentation, value chain analysis, and identification of key decision makers and design opportunities.
- Support strategic customer engagements to translate market and customer insights into product and portfolio direction.
- Ensure the development of effective product training, technical content, and sales enablement materials for global sales teams and customers.
- Partner with Molex worldwide sales engineers and channel partners to support design‑in activity and long‑term customer success.
- Travel as needed to engage with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capability to own and drive portfolio‑level financial performance, including multi‑line pricing strategy, margin improvement, capital trade‑offs, and investment prioritization
- Experience overseeing product lifecycle management across multiple product lines, including roadmap alignment and portfolio rationalization
- Demonstrated expertise working with customers directly to establish VOC and developing a product strategy around that with respective teams
- Strong track record of driving cross‑functional alignment at scale, resolving systemic handoff issues, and ensuring consistent execution across multiple programs, sites, or teams
- Experience synthesizing market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics across product lines to inform portfolio strategy and guide product prioritization
- Experience managing direct reports, including leading, mentoring, and coaching, building bench strength, and elevating capability across the team
- Experience influencing decision‑making across functions and organizational levels, balancing short‑term execution with long‑term strategic outcomes
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience representing the product portfolio to senior leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% or more in support of customers, business engagement, and cross‑functional leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline
- Experience with fiber optic applications or optical connectivity products.
- Experience leading product portfolios in B2B or technically complex markets.
- Background working with or supporting global sales channels.
- Experience using data and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) to drive portfolio strategy
