Joining my client's Global Markets Finance team, you will serve as a critical guardian of the firm's financial integrity. This is not just a reporting role; you will be the primary financial advisor to the trading desk, ensuring that P&L and valuation risks are managed with precision while driving the evolution of our control infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Performance Oversight & Financial Control
- Take full accountability for the end-to-end daily P&L production and validation for designated trading desks, ensuring all Mark-to-Market movements are explained and accurate.
- Execute Independent Price Verification (IPV) for complex derivatives and manage the calculation of technical provisions to ensure fair value compliance.
- Lead the month-end close and perform rigorous substantiation between Product Control sub-ledgers and the General Ledger.
Strategic Partnership & Change Management
- Act as a key liaison between the Front Office, Middle Office, and Technology to resolve complex trade lifecycle issues and data breaks.
- Provide expert input on New Product Approvals (NPA), designing control frameworks for new business lines and spearheading UAT for system upgrades.
- Shift the needle on efficiency by identifying manual bottlenecks and designing automated, scalable solutions to strengthen the global control environment.
Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in Product Control or a high-level Financial Services audit role (Big 4).
- You have a deep functional understanding of derivative, valuation methodologies, and market mechanics.
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights for senior management and maintain professional "check-and-balance" relationships with traders.
- Fast-paced environments where deadlines are non-negotiable. You don’t just spot problems; you bring the solution.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in advanced Excel (VBA/SQL is a plus for modern firms).
- Strong grasp of accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP) as they relate to financial instruments.
