JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Human Resources Manager partners with the Vice President, Human Resources, to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for our client's human resources services, policies, and programs. This position guides decision making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, developing, and rewarding talented employees. This position completes multiple and/or large projects to lead the development, enhancement, and innovation of the Human Resources Department. The Senior Human Resources Manager has project management and performance management responsibilities for their group.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Partners with Directors of Manufacturing and Plant Managers to provide HR oversight for multiple locations across manufacturing facilities
- Manages complex responsibility for specific areas including but not limited to labor negotiations/contract administration, areas outside of HR, etc.
- Works with the VP, Human Resources, and respective client groups to design organization structure, business process and systems
- Works to create a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development
- Guides managers in areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, etc.
- Ensures that all policies and procedures are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Responsible for operational HR issues including job description development, hiring, retention, succession planning, legal compliance, termination reviews, transfers, and communications
- Implements short and long terms plans to ensure performance and innovation within the HR department
- Monitors key metrics (i.e., turnover, attendance, etc.) to assist the location and/or functional area(s) in effectively managing their workforce to maximize productivity and overall effectiveness
- Demonstrates solid business acumen and ability to make HR decisions that ensure a positive impact on the bottom line
- Fosters teamwork at all levels and cross-functionally
- Acts as a catalyst for change with the ability to positively influence others to make difficult decisions
- Presentations with the highest levels within the organization
- Performs other projects as required by the business, functional unit and/or HR organization
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, or related field.
- 5+ years of human resources experience in a manufacturing environment; union experience helpful
- Experience with ADP (WorkForce Now) and Enhanced E-time - preferred
- Previous payroll/benefits experience helpful.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Develop relationships with business partners
- Innovative mindset identifying new ways to solve work problems resulting in unique/differentiated solutions.
- Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and strong project/time management skills
- Attention to detail and highly organized with a sense of urgency
- Understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective
- Effectively interface with all levels and types of internal and external employees and business associates
- Develop and present information formally and informally
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills; good organizational skills.
- Training and mentoring managers and individual contributors
- Some travel required
