A Student Radiologic Technologist who excels in this role:
- He or she must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of anatomy.
- The technologist must demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill and understanding of image quality.
- Must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the tests and relieve their anxiety.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of Radiographic Positioning, Radiographic Technique, Radiation Safety, Imaging Equipment, Infection Control and Quality Control techniques.
- Presents a pleasant and helpful manner to patients, physicians, subordinates and other members of the department staff.
- Assists in maintaining a work area free from hazards.
- The student radiologic technologist must perform routine diagnostic imaging studies, as needed. Must vary work schedule.
- The patient population ranges from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. The student radiologic technologist must provide services to all patients, families, and physicians serving this population.
- Insures that patient examinations are performed in an accurate and timely manner; not to exceed 30 minutes. Provides accurate patient positioning, computer entries and filming.
- Maintains an effective use of time, reports availability accordingly. Demonstrates a willingness and ability to assist others. Consistently displays team effort.
- Applies knowledge to produce high quality diagnostic images with use of professional knowledge to meet or exceed department guidelines.

- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be working on completion of a Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology (verification from school is required).
- Certifications: BLS required.
