About the Role

Kinterra Capital is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Modelling Analyst to support our private equity investment activities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in financial modelling, Excel, and accounting, who is looking to gain exposure to complex, cross-border transactions in the critical minerals and infrastructure sectors.

You will work closely with senior investment professionals across Toronto and Dubai, playing a key role in evaluating investment opportunities, supporting transaction execution, and monitoring portfolio performance through robust financial analysis.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Analysis:

  • Build and maintain advanced Excel-based financial models (DCF, LBO, 3-statement, and project finance)
  • Develop mine models, costing models, and forecasting tools
  • Perform valuation, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to assess investment opportunities
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning (FP&A) initiatives

Investment & Transaction Support:

  • Support transaction execution and due diligence, including financial, tax, and technical workstreams
  • Analyze financial data and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights
  • Prepare financial outputs and materials for investment committee presentations

Accounting & Financial Review:

  • Analyze financial statements using IFRS/GAAP principles
  • Assess quality of earnings and identify key risks impacting valuation
  • Translate accounting data into structured model inputs

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track portfolio performance and analyze budget vs. actual results
  • Support value creation through financial analysis and KPI tracking
  • Prepare investor-ready materials, including charts, models, and reporting outputs

Year-End & Audit Support:

  • Assist with year-end reporting, including data validation and documentation
  • Support audit processes by organizing materials and coordinating with internal teams
  • Review financial and operational data to identify inconsistencies and areas for follow-up

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market and sector research to inform investment decisions
  • Support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as needed


What you Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, Big 4 accounting, transaction advisory, equity research, or FP&A
  • Strong experience or interest in financial modelling in Excel (DCF, LBO, 3-statement, or project finance)
  • Exposure to mine modelling, costing, budgeting, or FP&A is a strong asset
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting (IFRS/GAAP) and financial statement analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or FactSet is an asset
  • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in energy transition, mining, and infrastructure sectors
  • Clear and effective communication skills
