We’re partnering with a well-established, privately held business in the Greater Toronto Area to identify a Vice President, Commercial/Sales.


The company operates in a high-volume, B2B environment, supplying essential products into manufacturing, construction, and industrial markets. It has built a durable, loyal customer base over decades through reliability, responsiveness, and the ability to execute in a fast-moving, margin-sensitive environment.


The business is now entering its next phase, with a clear focus on strengthening its leadership bench, elevating its commercial capabilities, and driving disciplined, profitable growth.


The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the President, with full ownership of the commercial function, spanning sales leadership, pricing, customer strategy, and alignment with supply.


This is not a traditional head of sales position. It is a true commercial leadership role with visibility and influence across the business.


You will play a central role in shaping how the company goes to market, how it drives margin and profitability, and how it evolves its commercial discipline. There is significant scope to assess what exists today, challenge it, and build a more structured, performance-driven commercial engine.


For the right individual, this role offers both immediate impact and longer-term leadership runway.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the commercial function with accountability for both revenue growth and margin performance
  • Coach, develop, and elevate a multi-region sales team, bringing consistency, structure, and accountability
  • Establish a more disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting, and sales execution
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with key customers across industrial and manufacturing sectors
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment between what is being sold, how it is priced, and how it is fulfilled
  • Contribute at the leadership table on broader business strategy, growth priorities, and operational alignment


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience leading a sales or commercial function with meaningful P&L accountability
  • Background in industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build or evolve a commercial team and raise the bar on performance
  • Strong commercial instincts, with a clear focus on margin, pricing discipline, and value creation
  • Comfortable operating in a privately held, entrepreneurial environment where pace and expectations are high
  • A leadership style that earns credibility through competence, not title
