About The Team
You’ll join a team of experienced and dedicated colleagues who share a strong commitment to delivering secure, stable, and high-quality digital identity solutions. At MitID, reliability and IT security are at the core of everything we build, ranging from applied cryptography to user-facing authentication flows. The team works in a collaborative Scrum setup with architects, developers, business analysts, testers, a Product Owner, and other key stakeholders. Together, we design and deliver enhancements and updates to the MitID platform.
About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Backend Developer to join our MitID development organization. You will become part of a professional environment where all team members share a strong commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and high‑quality digital identity solutions. Our work is centered around IT security, high availability, applied cryptography, and the continuous development of national digital identity infrastructure.
Main Responsabilities
The Backend Developer will be responsible for:
- Developing high‑quality backend software and delivering robust application components within agreed timelines
- Producing clean, efficient, and maintainable code based on technical and functional specifications
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation for reference, knowledge sharing, and reporting
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving software defects in a timely manner
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancing existing services and backend components
- Verifying and deploying programs and systems across relevant environments
- Contributing proactively to continuous improvement efforts within the development team
- Experience in developing enterprise IT systems and complex software solutions
- Solid hands‑on experience with backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, OpenShift, and Hibernate
- Experience with cryptographic concepts and familiarity with security‑related systems
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms for issue tracking and documentation
- Experience with automated testing tools such as JUnit
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and related architectural principles
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and associated toolchains
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Experience with front‑end development, particularly Angular
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to learn new technologies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
