Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist plays a key role in supporting the daily financial operations of the organization. This position is responsible for cash management activities, administration of physician business expenses, and oversight of the Concur platform. In addition, the role provides foundational accounting support to the broader accounting team, helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting within a fast-paced environment.
Cash and Banking Operations
- Process daily bank transactions, including deposits, disbursements, and transfers
- Prepare and maintain daily cash logs and reconciliations
- Monitor bank activity and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support monthly bank reconciliations and cash reporting
- Administer physician business expense program in accordance with company policy
- Review expense submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Partner with internal teams and physicians to resolve questions or discrepancies
- Track and report on expense activity and trends
- Serve as primary administrator for Concur
- Manage user setup, maintenance, and access controls
- Audit expense reports and enforce policy compliance within the system
- Assist with system enhancements, reporting, and user training
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
- Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external reporting
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Provide general support to the accounting team on special projects
- Assist with preparation and filing of annual unclaimed property filings
- Conduct unclaimed property searches and file claims.
- Manage administration of corporate credit cards
- Provide administrative support for the Accounting and Finance department.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial operations
- Experience with expense management systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
