Courses are taught by faculty members with strong academic and business experience. The faculty members stress the development of critical thinking, sophisticated communications skills, and a flexible managerial perspective.The ideal candidate will have a Doctoral degree in entrepreneurship; have practical work experience in the field of entrepreneurship; demonstrated effectiveness in teaching; knowledge and experience in strategic leadership, hospitality management, and/or franchising; evidence of scholarly activities; and familiarity in developing business partnerships.This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.For additional information about the School, please visit the https://www.monmouth.edu/business-school/ webpage.Additional Application Material Required:Monmouth University requires all applications and supporting documents to be submitted via the university's career portal.   • Doctoral degree in entrepreneurship or related field from an AACSB accredited institution (e.g., management, strategic management, innovation, or organizational behavior). ABD candidates will be considered; degree completion is required by date of hire.
  • Evidence of scholarly activities in the area of entrepreneurship or related fields (e.g., publications; conference presentations).
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Practical work experience in the field of entrepreneurship.
  • Knowledge and experience in strategic leadership, hospitality management, and/or franchising.
  • Familiarity in developing business partnerships.
  • Versatility and/or training in course delivery across diverse teaching modalities.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Expected to teach 12 credits at the graduate and/or undergraduate level per semester, but this requirement is reduced to 9 credits if the individual maintains currency as a “Scholarly Academic” as defined by the Leon Hess Business School's Policy on Faculty Classification and Engagement; Subject areas to be taught include entrepreneurship and small business management at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, but some flexibility in teaching other topics is desirable.
  • Maintain scholarly currency as a “Scholarly Academic” as defined by the Leon Hess Business School's Policy on Faculty Classifications and Engagement in accordance with AACSB Standard
  • In this regard, a “Scholarly Academic” is an active participating faculty member who generates research and scholarship artifacts that satisfy the point system requirements established and approved by the Leon Hess Business School Faculty
  • Serve as the lead professor for the entrepreneurship course.
