Staff Accountant

Overview:

The Staff Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and record keeping for the organization. This position supports the accounting team by ensuring accurate data entry, reconciliation, and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Perform account reconciliations (e.g. prepaid expenses, other receivables, accrued expenses, and/or intercompany accounts).
• Maintain and update accounting records and documentation.
• Support external audits by gathering and organizing financial documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards (GAAP).
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy in financial data.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance.
• 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ad-hoc reports, and accounting software (such as Epicor or similar ERP systems).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a corporate finance environment.
• Exposure to ERP systems or advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
• Familiarity with financial analysis.
