Sales Development Rotational Program (Outside Sales Track)
Position Overview
We are seeking motivated recent college graduates to join our 12–18 month Sales Development Rotational Program designed to develop the next generation of Outside Sales Representatives within the industrial distribution and fluid power industry.
This hands-on program provides exposure to every critical area of the business including warehouse operations, assembly and engineering support, counter/store operations, inside sales, and outside sales. Participants will build technical product knowledge, operational understanding, and customer relationship skills while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple departments.
The program is designed to create highly capable, customer-focused sales professionals with a strong understanding of both internal operations and field sales execution. Successful candidates will transition into an Outside Sales Representative role upon completion of the program.
Program Structure
Participants will rotate through key departments including:
- Warehouse & Logistics
- Assembly & Engineering Support
- Store/Counter Sales
- Inside Sales & Customer Service
- Outside Sales Ride-Alongs & Territory Development
Throughout the program, participants will receive mentorship, product training, and ongoing performance evaluations to support professional growth and long-term career development.
Compensation
- Starting salary: $50,000
- Guaranteed $5,000 salary increases every 6 months while actively progressing through the program
- Performance and career advancement opportunities upon transition into Outside Sales
Responsibilities
- Learn company products, systems, and operational processes
- Support customer needs across multiple business functions
- Develop technical knowledge related to industrial, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation products
- Assist inside and outside sales teams with quoting, customer follow-up, and project coordination
- Participate in customer visits, training events, and sales calls
- Build relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Associates in engineering will be considered), ideally in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Competitive, self-motivated, and team-oriented mindset
- Interest in industrial sales, manufacturing, fluid power, or technical solutions
- Ability to learn technical products and systems quickly
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as needed
