The Chair of Service Psychology is part of the Marketing & Sales Group of WHU. Creating cutting-edge customer experiences in today’s world of digital possibilities and human connection is what drives us. We concentrate on transforming and capturing the performance of customer journeys as well as integrating AI-based and interpersonal touchpoints – against the background of latest psychological insights.
We examine topics of practical relevance revolving around customer experience and do so cooperating with a network of leading companies. Our teaching represents a modern perspective on consumer psychology as the background for providing successful customer journeys and for creating service excellence and customer loyalty. This approach is reflected in our course module Strategizing Customer Impact: The Psychological Roadmap to Successful Marketing, consisting of the two classes Consumer Psychology: Solving the Black-Box Mystery and Nurturing Customer Relationships: The Winning Formula of Marketing.
This is a 67% position, starting on September 1, 2026 or later. Joining our team, there will be an emphasis on supporting your dissertation research. Because we frequently use the Zoom platform for team meetings, we provide regular opportunities to coordinate working out of one’s home office.
Your mission
- You develop your (dissertation) research project.
- You work toward publishing academic papers from your research area.
- You assist with the teaching activities of the chair and advise students’ degree theses independently.
- You enjoy working creatively and methodically. You want to develop your abilities and qualifications in a supportive environment.
- You hold (or expect to receive) a master’s degree in business or psychology with very good grades.
- You speak and write German fluently.
- You possess excellent communication and writing skills in English.
Academic Environment
