Process Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Water Treatment Process Engineer with 3+ years of experience in designing, optimizing, and managing water and wastewater treatment systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in municipal or industrial water treatment processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle all aspects of design support for a range of projects from concept through commissioning.
What you will do:
- Design and develop water and wastewater treatment processes, including treatment trains, PFDs, and P&IDs
- Perform process calculations for sizing equipment such as pumps, clarifiers, filters, membrane systems, chemical dosing systems, and sludge handling units
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Support proposal development, including cost estimation and technical input
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation)
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in water or wastewater treatment process engineering
- Strong knowledge of physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes (e.g., coagulation/flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, membrane systems, activated sludge, MBR, RO)
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting requirements
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and instrumentation controls
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD / Inventor, Excel, process simulation software)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
