We are seeking a product‑oriented growth executive to own and reinvent the individual subscriptions business — the company’s largest and most strategically important revenue line. This is a high‑visibility leadership role shaping how a premium news and information product grows in an AI‑driven world, with direct influence on product, editorial, and company strategy.
This is not a traditional growth marketing role. It is a GM‑level product + growth leadership position focused on building a subscription product that becomes essential to its audience — not just one that is well marketed. The ideal leader brings creativity, strategic depth, and the ability to be both hands‑on and high‑level.

You will set the vision, product strategy, and operating system for growth — shaping not just how subscribers are acquired, but why they stay, engage, and upgrade. The role sits at the intersection of product, data, editorial, and revenue.
What You’ll Own
Product‑Led Growth Strategy & Vision
- Define a clear product vision for growth — focused on what the subscription is becoming, not just how it is sold.
- Reimagine the subscription as a habit‑forming, high‑frequency product.
- Identify and build new value loops (AI workflows, personalization, proprietary data, career utility).
- Anticipate how AI and shifting consumption behaviors reshape user expectations.
Subscription Business Ownership
- Own performance of the individual subscription business, including growth, retention, and long‑term value.
- Lead acquisition across organic, paid, partnerships, editorial surfaces, and product‑led growth.
- Build and evolve a best‑in‑class retention and lifecycle strategy grounded in product experience and editorial value.
- Partner with Editorial, Data, and Engineering to shape experiences that drive engagement and loyalty.
Analytics & Decision‑Making
- Bring rigor and clarity to growth measurement, forecasting, and prioritization.
- Build systems that surface the “why” behind performance, not just the “what.”
- Use data to guide investment decisions while balancing judgment and intuition.
Leadership & Change
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary growth organization.
- Challenge legacy assumptions and introduce new ways of working.
- Create clarity and momentum in ambiguous moments.
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, creativity, and accountability.
Cross‑Functional Growth Support
- Support marketing and growth efforts for partnerships, events, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure the company shows up with a cohesive growth story and consistent execution.
