About the Role

You42 Eatz is hiring a detail-oriented, finance-driven Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing hospitality group (two restaurants, a bar, and a bodega).

This role is heavily finance-focused (≈80%), reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting, and ensuring operational consistency across all locations. You’ll also provide light HR support (~20%), primarily around onboarding and employee records.

What You’ll Do

Financial Operations (Primary Focus)

• Manage daily bookkeeping: invoice entry, expense tracking, AP/AR support
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with weekly reporting and month-end close
• Maintain organized financial records (receipts, vendor contracts, tax docs)
• Support implementation of financial SOPs and internal controls
• Assist with inventory tracking and cost control (COGS)
• Partner with General Managers to ensure accurate financial data across locations

HR Support (Secondary Focus)

• Coordinate onboarding (background checks, I-9s, documentation)
• Maintain employee records and compliance files
• Support basic HR and payroll-related inquiries

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Experience with QuickBooks, Toast, or similar systems is a plus
• High attention to detail and accuracy with financial data
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills across operations and leadership teams

Compensation

• $55,000 – $60,000 annually, based on experience
