SUMMARY OF POSITION: The primary function of the Engineering Manager is
to provide leadership and technical product support to Manufacturing,
Sales and the Engineering staffs. This position will also provide
timely, high performance special tool designs and manufacturing routings
along with technical product support to Guhring customers and
manufacturing personnel. Will use published process guidelines, standard
engineering design guidelines, and field application information to
accomplish this. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES: Lead, mentor, and coach
engineering team members, fostering individual development through
career pathing, structured 1:1s, and performance feedback. Drive project
execution by defining objectives, allocating resources, tracking
progress, and owning budgets to meet deadlines and deliverables. Balance
technical oversight with people leadership-review system/tooling
designs, guide trade-offs, unblock teams, and maintain process
reliability. Promote a collaborative, inclusive culture that supports
psychological safety, diversity, and open communication. Integrate
data-driven decision-making: analyze process metrics, late-job drivers,
rework rates, and incident trends to optimize workflows. Orchestrate
incident management and problem-solving to ensure high operational
availability and quality outcomes. Partner cross-functionally with
Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D to align engineering solutions
with business goals and customer needs. Lead recruitment: define roles,
interview/hire, and run structured onboarding. Ensure compliance with
industry standards and safety regulations, particularly in Carbide and
Aerospace/OEM environments. Drive continuous improvement: evaluate and
implement new manufacturing processes (EDM, laser cutting),
tool-measuring systems (e.g., Alicona), and digital analysis (Spike) to
increase efficiency and reduce cost. Manage tool quotation and
RGA/corrective action processes, ensuring timely responses and durable
solutions. Oversee SAP routing systems, ensuring process compliance and
integration with engineering changes and quotations. Maintain
confidentiality of proprietary designs and cultivate strong
