Accounting Manager - Property Management

Verona, NJ | Full-Time
We are partnering with a growing property management organization in the Verona, NJ area seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and lead a team supporting multiple entities. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership abilities and experience within property management, real estate, or construction-related environments.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records for operating properties in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee full general ledger accounting responsibilities for multiple entities
• Manage and supervise the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams and functions
• Supervise daily accounting transactions and ensure accuracy within the accounting system
• Ensure vendors are paid within established payment cycles
• Complete and monitor re-bills in a timely manner
• Respond to vendor and tenant inquiries and resolve accounting-related issues
• Train, mentor, and supervise accounting staff
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee development
• Assist with establishing cash, security deposit, and investment accounts
• Complete credit applications and support special projects as needed
• Support continuous process improvements and operational efficiencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Strong management, mentoring, and leadership experience
• Ability to direct and supervise multiple accounting functions simultaneously
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
• Strong time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Yardi Voyager and/or QuickBooks
• Prior experience in property management, real estate, or residential construction environments
