Building Engineer

Office Villas is seeking an experienced and reliable experienced Building Engineer for 2 office buildings in Great Neck.  As the building engineer, you will be responsible for all repair and upkeep operations of our facilities. Your duties will include maintaining systems, planning repair activities, developing procedures, and sourcing and overseeing third party vendors and contractors. Our ideal candidate is professional, meticulous, and able to prioritize their tasks and responsibilities. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems
• Perform basic repairs in areas such as plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical Perform and/or supervising maintenance tasks
• Perform and oversee the maintenance of building systems (HVAC, Fire Safety, Elevators)
• Supervise all maintenance processes and operations
• Identify reliable and qualified vendors and contractors
• Obtain quotes for and evaluate repair cost estimates
• Supervisor custodial staff
• Ensure groundskeeping and snow removal are completed as necessary
• Oversee parking facilities
  

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building maintenance or superintendent position
• Broad knowledge of facility operations and maintenance
• Strong hands-on experience in basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems
• Good understanding of building mechanical systems (HVAC, Fire Safety, Elevators)
• Supervisory experience is a plus
• Effective oral and written communications skills
• Proficiency with PC applications such as MS Outlook and Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift 50lbs safely
