Gordon Geotechnical Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Field Engineer to join our team.

Gordon Geotechnical Engineering, Inc. (G2) provides geotechnical, geological, environmental, and bracing/shoring/underpinning consultation services. We have been involved in a wide variety of small and large projects covering government, commercial, residential, and industrial development. G2 also specializes in engineering for schools, highways, mining, utilities, airports, hospitals, and many other development related fields.


Responsibilities Include:

· Perform field explorations, collection of samples, geologic reconnaissance, and environmental site inspections.

· Assist with construction observation.

· Perform geotechnical lab testing.

· Interact and communicate with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.

· Perform other office, laboratory or field studies and duties that may be assigned by our senior level professional staff or the Office Manager.

Requirements Include:

· B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (with geotechnical emphasis).

· Preference given to those with working backgrounds and/or coursework in three or more of the following areas: rock and/or soil mechanics; rock and/or soil slope stability; shallow and/or deep foundations; seismic design; earthquake engineering; retaining structures; and construction observation.

· Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills required to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.

· Must be personable, flexible, and easy going.

· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

· This position requires critical thinking and analysis; frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting and carrying 30+ pounds; working in all weather conditions; field visits per project needs; and ability to drive (or fly) to and from job sites locally and out of state.

*This position is a great opportunity to gain relevant field experience for the PE licensure exam working on a variety of projects under a team of professional geotechnical and environmental engineers.
