National Sales Leader / Senior Sales Manager
Class I Medical Device Company
Location: Remote – 80% Travel Across USA
Competitive salary + Equity and Bonus
We are looking for a highly driven, hands-on medical device sales leader who knows how to get in front of decision-makers, open doors, build relationships in person, and close business.
This is not a desk-based corporate sales leadership role. We need someone who thrives on the road, enjoys being inside hospitals and healthcare facilities, and leads from the front. The right person will actively support the sales process in the field — conducting product demonstrations, meeting clinicians and purchasing teams face-to-face, helping reps win business, and doing whatever it takes to move opportunities across the finish line.
You will lead a national sales team while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day selling activity, customer relationships, distributor engagement, and account development.
This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial sales professional who wants to help build and grow a business — not simply work for one. We are looking for someone with the drive, passion, and determination to push the business forward, fully believe in the company’s mission, and treat the business like their own.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead from the front with a highly visible, field-based sales approach.
- Travel extensively across the U.S. to meet customers, support reps, conduct demos, attend industry events, and drive sales activity.
- Get into hospitals, healthcare systems, and clinical environments to build relationships and create sales opportunities.
- Proactively identify and get in front of key decision-makers including clinicians, department heads, procurement teams, hospital administrators, and distributor partners.
- Do whatever it takes to open doors, build trust, and move sales opportunities forward in highly competitive healthcare environments.
- Work directly with hospitals, clinics, outpatient centers, distributors, and healthcare decision-makers.
- Personally assist in developing and closing strategic sales opportunities and large accounts.
- Conduct product demonstrations and help customers understand the value and application of the company’s medical devices.
- Coach and motivate a distributed sales team to aggressively pursue new business and grow existing accounts.
- Hold the team accountable for activity levels, pipeline growth, territory performance, and revenue targets.
- Build strong relationships with clinicians, procurement teams, distributors, and channel partners.
- Identify opportunities to expand market presence through direct outreach, networking, referrals, and field engagement.
- Partner with marketing and leadership to ensure sales messaging and customer feedback align with market needs.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, and territory management.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent capable of succeeding in a fast-moving healthcare sales environment.
- Ensure all selling activity complies with company standards and medical device regulations.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the company and champion its mission in every customer interaction.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of medical device sales experience with strong field-based selling success.
- Direct experience working with hospitals and selling medical devices is required.
- Proven ability to gain access to healthcare decision-makers and successfully navigate hospital sales environments.
- Proven experience selling directly into hospitals, healthcare systems, clinics, or surgical/outpatient environments.
- Prior leadership experience managing regional or national sales teams.
- Strong track record of personally winning business, opening accounts, and exceeding sales targets.
- Comfortable spending significant time traveling and meeting customers face-to-face.
- Skilled at delivering product demonstrations, relationship-based selling, and navigating healthcare buying processes.
- Strong hunter mentality with the drive and persistence to create opportunities and close deals.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine passion for building and growing a business.
- Someone who is self-motivated, commercially driven, and willing to do what it takes to make sales happen.
- Experience working with distributors, dealer networks, or channel sales models is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
What Success Looks Like
- Revenue targets are consistently achieved through strong field execution and customer engagement.
- New hospital systems, healthcare facilities, and distributor relationships are actively developed.
- The sales team is motivated, accountable, and highly active in the field.
- Product demos convert into meaningful sales opportunities and long-term customer relationships.
- The company builds a strong reputation through face-to-face customer support and responsiveness.
- The successful candidate becomes a trusted commercial leader who helps shape the future growth of the business.
