Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Business Systems Developer to join our Information Technology team and help modernize and enhance the Firm’s enterprise collaboration and business application ecosystem. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives at the intersection of SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, modern .NET development, integrations, and workflow automation.
The Business Systems Developer will partner closely with Firm leadership, legal practice groups, and IT stakeholders to design and deliver scalable intranet solutions, custom applications, integrations, APIs, and AI-enabled workflows that improve collaboration, knowledge sharing, and operational efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint & Intranet Development
- Design, develop, and enhance SharePoint Online intranet solutions using SPFx, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
- Support and optimize Firm intranet and collaboration sites, including embedded applications and integrations.
- Build responsive and accessible UI components integrated with Microsoft 365 services and third-party legal platforms.
Power Platform & Automation
- Develop Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) integrated with SharePoint and enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain Power Automate workflows and low-code business process solutions.
- Create Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions for business users and leadership.
API & Backend Development
- Develop secure backend services, integrations, and RESTful APIs using modern C# and .NET 8+ technologies.
- Integrate Microsoft Graph API, Microsoft 365 services, and third-party platforms including Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and Dataverse.
- Design event-driven integrations connecting SharePoint Online with internal systems and external SaaS applications.
Cloud, DevOps & Security
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Support production deployments, testing, QA, release management, and SDLC processes.
- Ensure solutions follow Firm security, governance, and change management standards.
- Support Azure services including Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and App Registrations.
Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate directly with legal professionals, business stakeholders, and IT leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools and Copilot technologies responsibly and effectively.
- Provide end-user training, documentation, and ongoing support for deployed systems and applications.
- Participate in troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous platform improvements.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise solutions using SharePoint Online in a professional services or enterprise environment.
- Experience within a law firm or BigLaw environment strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong SharePoint Online expertise including site administration, content management, and information architecture.
- Hands-on SPFx development experience using TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and React.
- Strong experience with Power Platform including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience building REST APIs and integrating Microsoft Graph API and Microsoft 365 services.
- Proficiency with C# and modern .NET (8+) development.
- Experience with Azure services including Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Dataverse, and Microsoft Teams integrations.
- Experience with legal platforms such as iManage or similar systems preferred.
