Job Summary: The Maintenance Electrical Engineer is responsible for improving abnormal machine conditions and restoring aging equipment to its optimal operating state using advanced mechanical and electrical engineering expertise. This role ensures equipment reliability, production efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards through proactive maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.



Key Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):



  • Direct the enforcement of safety practices and ensure adequate controls exist to prevent injuries and accidents.

  • Partner with the EHS Engineer and Safety Committee to drive a culture of safety and compliance.

  • Review safety performance metrics and implement corrective actions as required.

  • Promote and uphold HL Mando’s Quality Policy to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Verify all required records and documentation are properly completed, maintained, and compliant.

  • Support 100% on-time delivery by coordinating and prioritizing maintenance and production activities.

  • Investigate downtime or delivery failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with Production Control to ensure effective production and maintenance scheduling.

  • Analyze breakdowns, perform repairs, and implement proactive measures to minimize recurrence.

  • Develop and update equipment repair manuals, preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, and procedures.

  • Ensure all measuring devices and calibration systems are accurate and up to date.

  • Collaborate with Production Engineering to design, install, and maintain new or modified control systems.

  • Maintain PM control systems and update processes as needed to improve efficiency and reliability.

  • Work with external vendors to source components, negotiate pricing, and evaluate service quality.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance work orders and system performance.

  • Lead and participate in 5S, housekeeping, and cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Drive continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and equipment performance.




Qualifications:


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.




Skills and Competencies:



  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for root cause and failure analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Experience in equipment calibration, repair documentation, and maintenance recordkeeping.

  • Knowledge of PLC programming, electrical control systems, and automation integration.

  • Ability to perform modifications to existing control systems to improve throughput and product quality.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

  • Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.




Legal Requirements:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States




Working Conditions:



  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to mechanical, electrical, and moving equipment.

  • May require occasional travel to vendor or customer locations.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as appropriate.




Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for trade show materials or product demonstrations.

  • Visual ability to read and interpret detailed data and documentation.




Remote Work: Not Eligible for Hybrid Remote Work Schedule
