A fast-growing online retail business operating across multiple brands, with ambitious plans to become a market leader in our sector. To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Operations to lead and develop our operational function.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee fulfilment, production, and third-party logistics operations, helping to drive performance, scalability, and continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

As Head of Operations, you will lead the operational teams at the Crewe site while also overseeing the 3PL network. You'll play a key role in shaping operational strategy, improving efficiencies, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Operations team, creating a high-performance and customer-focused culture
• Work closely with the leadership team to support and deliver the wider business strategy
• Oversee all fulfilment operations including goods intake, inventory management, kitting, pick & pack, and dispatch
• Manage on-demand production operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and service excellence
• Identify and implement scalable process improvements, systems, and automation opportunities
• Improve communication and collaboration across departments and external partners
• Take ownership of operational budgets and P&L performance, ensuring strong cost control and productivity
• Make key decisions around operational investment, resources, and equipment
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and key stakeholders
• Analyse operational performance and present insights, results, and future initiatives to the wider business

About You

We are looking for an experienced operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced e-commerce environment and enjoys building efficient, scalable operations.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience leading operations within an e-commerce or multi-channel retail environment
• Strong knowledge of order fulfilment, warehousing, logistics, and operational best practice
• Experience managing or working with international fulfilment or 3PL partners
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational performance and customer experience
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop teams
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
• Strong understanding of operational systems, technology, and process optimisation
• Excellent organisational and project management skills with strong attention to detail

• Salary: £70,000-£80,000
