Job title: Grocery Buyer - Depot: Manchester - Reporting to: Trading Controller

United Wholesale Grocers Limited was founded in 1977 by Mr. Mohammed Ramzan. The company has over 200 employees with a turnover in excess of £200 million. We have 3 have branches, 2 in Glasgow and 1 at Gateshead in the North East of England. We are primarily a Cash & Carry Wholesale business with a wide product portfolio consisting of Beers, Wines, Spirits, Soft Drinks, Tobacco, Vapes, Confectionary, Crisps and Snacks, Household and Grocery.

Key Tasks / Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Trading Controller, the Buyer will manage their categories, including Grocery, Household, Chill and Frozen. The role, will involve working closely with suppliers through negotiation and relationship building to ensure that the company objectives on maximising margin whilst ensuring stock availability that in turn delivers great customer service and experience within our branches.
