CONFIDENTIAL - Director / Head of Media & Digital Commerce- DTC
Location: Northern New Jersey, Hybrid schedule 3x/week in office.
About the Role
The Head of Media & Digital Commerce is a senior leader for our Health & Wellness brand that is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s consumer reach strategy including media, performance optimization, and digital commerce enablement across paid, owned, and partner channels.
Reporting into the CMO, this role serves as the strategic and operational lead for media investment, measurement, activation and optimization —ensuring investments drive brand impact, revenue growth, and scalable commerce outcomes. The individual partners closely with Brand, Creative, eCommerce and external agencies to connect media investment to business results, while building a modern, integrated media operating model.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with meaningful influence and decision‑making authority, accountable for results and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Media Strategy & Investment Leadership
- Lead media strategy and investment planning across paid, owned, and commerce‑related channels, aligned to CMO priorities and business goals.
- Own annual and quarterly media strategy and planning processes, including budget allocation, channel mix, and test‑and‑learn roadmaps.
- Partner with CMO to ensure disciplined investment decisions and clear ROI visibility.
- Establish media governance standards, including testing frameworks, scaling thresholds, and agency performance metrics.
Performance Management & Optimization
- Own performance oversight across media channels, including ROAS, CPC, CAC, conversion efficiency, and contribution to revenue.
- Drive ongoing optimization through structured experimentation across audiences, creative, formats, and platforms.
- Partner with CMO, Marketing and agency partners to evolve attribution, reporting, and performance insights.
- Translate performance data into clear, executive‑ready narratives for the CMO and senior stakeholders.
Digital Commerce Enablement (Social Commerce & DTC)
- Lead media activation strategies that accelerate DTC sales and social commerce initiatives (e.g., TikTok Shop, Instagram Checkout, etc).
- Partner with Ecommerce and Brand teams to optimize the full funnel from media exposure through conversion.
- Support product launches, promotions, and activations with commerce‑led media strategies.
- Identify and pilot emerging commerce media opportunities in partnership with platform and agency teams.
Owned & Earned Channel Integration
- Partner with Brand and Social teams to align paid media with organic social, influencer/creator programs, and affiliate networks.
- Ensure paid, owned, and creator channels operate as an integrated growth ecosystem rather than siloed efforts.
- Support frameworks for measuring creator, affiliate, and organic channel contribution to commerce and brand outcomes.
Team & Partner Leadership
- Lead, develop, and manage a high‑performing team of media and digital commerce managers and specialists.
- Define the right balance between in‑house expertise and agency support.
- Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans for direct reports.
- Serve as the day‑to‑day leader with key agency, platform, and commerce partners.
Qualifications
- 8–15 years of experience in media, performance marketing, digital commerce, or growth leadership roles
- Proven experience managing multi‑channel media strategies and investments
- Demonstrated success supporting DTC growth and/or social commerce initiatives
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience leading teams and working effectively in matrixed, CMO‑led organizations
- Strong executive presence, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Comfort balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on execution oversight
Comp: $180,000-$270,000 base + bonus
