Project Accountant (12-month contract)

- Providing operational financial support for research grants and commercial contracts
- Managing transactional finance and accounting processes, including journals, accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner in budgeting, grant applications, and financial reporting
- Partnering with stakeholders to monitor expenses, resolve variances, and provide accurate cost centre reports
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax law, and internal policies
- Assisting with audits and maintaining high levels of financial data integrity
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and special projects to enhance finance services
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure payroll, project amendments, and financial processes are completed efficiently
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Membership, or working towards membership, with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia
- Minimum 12 months experience in accounting or finance supporting project or grant activities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with accurate data entry capabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines

Salary Min : A$ 70000
Salary Max : A$ 80000
