Description
We would love to have you join our team at the Kentucky Department of Agriculture! Our department provides services and programs across the Commonwealth which benefit every Kentuckian each day.
This position is in our Office for Consumer and Environmental Protection, Division of Regulatory and Inspection, Amusement Safety Branch.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
- Coordinates and supports administrative and programmatic functions related to registration and inspection processes for the Amusement Safety program. Runs the Aerial Recreational program. Assist customers by responding to inquiries regarding registration, inspection requirements, and compliance procedures.
- Maintains organized electronic and paper filing systems, including purging records in accordance with established timelines and retention schedules. Supports inspection operations by assisting with field inspections of regulated equipment and ensuring inspection forms and reports are completed accurately. Maintains and tracks inspection equipment and materials provided by the agency.
- Coordinates communication and outreach to regulated entities, including contacting non- compliant or unregistered businesses to facilitate compliance with registration requirements. Assists with processing payments related to registrations and inspections.
- Provides support to Amusement Safety inspectors and program staff by coordinating travel arrangements, assisting with registration and renewal processes, and submitting required program documentation. Assist and coordinate training programs for inspectors.
- Prepares and distributes official correspondence, including violation notices and renewal communications. Participates in hearings, including violation and mitigation proceedings.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
