Mid-Level Full Stack Developer

Beyond is seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Full Stack Developer to join our growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on meaningful technology that powers real outcomes for clients across Western Australia's mining sector and Aboriginal-owned organisations.

You'll play an active role across the full product lifecycle - from translating ideas into architecture and building net-new features, to refining and scaling existing systems. Our stack is modern, our team is lean, and the work is varied enough to keep you genuinely engaged.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain full stack features using React and Next.js on the frontend and scalable backend services
• Integrate and manage authentication flows using Auth0, including SSO, role-based access control, and token management
• Own and improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud infrastructure on Linode (Akamai Cloud)
• Drive security best practices across the stack, from secure authentication flows to infrastructure hardening and vulnerability management
• Profile, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks at both the application and infrastructure level
• Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
• Collaborate across teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Proactively address technical debt and keep the codebase in good shape

What We're Looking For

You're a developer who takes pride in craft without losing sight of pragmatism. You're comfortable moving between the frontend and backend, and you don't need to be hand-held through ambiguous problems. You communicate clearly, take feedback well, and care about the people using the things you build.

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Backend development experience with Node.js
• Hands-on experience with Next.js, including SSR, SSG, and API routes
• Familiarity with identity and access management using Auth0 or a comparable authentication platform
• Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud infrastructure (Linode/Akamai, AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)
• Familiarity with Cloudflare services, including tunnels, DNS, and security features such as WAF and DDoS protection
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases: experience with SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, Redis) solutions
• Solid understanding of web fundamentals: HTTP, security best practices, responsive design
• Working knowledge of OWASP and secure coding practices
• Comfortable with version control workflows using Git
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
