What do you contribute?
In this role, you'll be part of our Application of Technologies team in the Digital Transformation division, shaping the technical future of Siemens Mobility. You'll design complex, scalable software architectures for various business units (Rail Infrastructure, Rolling Stock, Customer Services) that enable sophisticated mobility solutions and drive the global transition toward sustainable transportation systems.
- Develop forward-looking software architectures that optimally combine scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies—particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence—into existing and new product landscapes across the various business units
- Independently conduct technical requirements analyses and competently advise highly qualified stakeholders from Rail Infrastructure, Rolling Stock, and Customer Services on complex architectural decisions
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers and establish best practices for clean code and technical excellence
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Take responsibility for technical documentation and knowledge transfer of critical architectural decisions
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and technology stacks
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Extensive professional experience in software development, with at least 5+ years in architecting complex systems
- Deep expertise in modern programming languages (Java, Python, C++, Go) and cloud-native architectures
- Solid knowledge of microservices, API design, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Machine Learning frameworks and their integration into production systems, as well as the targeted use of AI tools to drive efficiency gains
- Experience in the mobility sector or safety-critical systems (preferred)
- Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate technical visions into actionable roadmaps
- Business-proficient English skills and at least a solid command of German, enabling you to collaborate effectively with international teams and stakeholders
- Well-founded technical expertise that allows you to act as a trusted subject-matter authority in your field and inspire others
