ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of power circuit design & installation
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace & upgrade as necessary industrial pc systems
- Troubleshoots faulty control systems.
- Changes or modifies controls in accordance with changes in plant demands.
- Documents installation and changes in control, electrical and electronic systems including the creation of electrical schematics.
- Works closely with outside vendors and technical representatives on control, electrical and electronic system problems and designs.
- Capable of training other skilled trades personnel with special troubleshooting techniques and applications.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test electrical and mechanical equipment on routine basis.
- Install, maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including disconnecting devices, conduits, wiring, overload protection devices, gear boxes, chains, hydraulic valves, electrical and mechanical motors.
- Troubleshoot, repair and test A.C. and D.C. control circuits, microprocessor and logic gate circuits, times sequence circuits and programmable controllers
- Repair air compressors, air conditioners, hoists and maintain product handling equipment.
- Maintain all electrical equipment in accordance with the National Electric Code
- Practices correct safety procedures and maintains safety systems on all production equipment.
- Work areas must be left clean during and after a task. All doors, covers etc. must be closed or replaced.
- Must be available to provide emergency assistance at night and on weekends as needed.
- Must be capable of troubleshooting all machinery and equipment located in the factory.
- Performs other related tasks as required.
- Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in electronic equipment design, installation, testing, repair, and maintenance
- Robotics experience, including robotics programming
- Thorough knowledge of electrical circuit safety devices, circuits & the proper application of safety devices
- Proficient with motor control circuits and relay logic.
- Knowledge & experience with VFD’s – setup & troubleshooting
- Knowledge of industrial operator interface systems
- Skill in the use of electronic equipment testing devices
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams
- Ability to locate and repair defective electronic equipment
- Must possess and be able to demonstrate initiative and logic in resolving complex electrical and mechanical problems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.
- Strong knowledge of the theory of logic/gate circuitry, microprocessor controllers, and control sequence/timing devices.
- General knowledge of federal, state and local electrical codes as applies to industrial plant operations.
- Knowledge of proper techniques for troubleshooting & repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Skilled use of MIG and Stick welders as well as an Oxy-Acetylene torch set.
- General knowledge of methods for fabrication or modification of new or existing equipment.
- General knowledge of typical maintenance repair & fabrication shop equipment / tools.
- Capable of performing minor machine work with shop equipment such as lathe, vertical mill, and grinders.
- Must be willing to attend company sponsored training courses in the United States and abroad.
- Must be willing to work overtime hours as needed and accept night weekend call-in for emergency work.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- General skills necessary for interaction with PC software applications, ie. SAP, MS Office, etc.
- Basic knowledge of PLC’s, including troubleshooting techniques
- Basic knowledge including troubleshooting & repair of industrial wired & wireless networking components
- High School diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Industrial Maintenance Program or military equivalent. The curriculum must include electrical training.
- Ten years maintenance experience in an industrial environment preferred.
