Dotnet Backend Engineer

The Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend microservices and APIs that power the bank’s digital channels (Mobile and Internet Banking). The role requires strong hands-on experience in .NET Core, RESTful APIs, integration with core banking systems, and secure, scalable backend development aligned with banking standards. The ideal candidate should be comfortable leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools and engineering workflows to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities

•

Develop and maintain backend APIs and services using .NET Core / C#.

•

Integrate with Core Banking (e.g., T24, Finacle), Payment Gateways, Middleware, and External Systems (NI, Mastercard, etc.).

•

Implement microservices architecture, message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and containerized deployments (Kubernetes).

•

Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of digital banking APIs.

•

Implement secure coding practices and comply with banking information security standards.

•

Participate in code reviews, testing, and production deployment activities.

•

Troubleshoot production issues and ensure minimal downtime.

•

Document technical specifications, API definitions, and deployment procedures.

•

Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar developer copilots to improve development efficiency and code quality.

•

Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline setup, deployment automation, container orchestration, and release management.

•

Participate in backend performance optimization, observability, monitoring, and operational readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

•

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

•

3–6 years of hands-on experience in backend development with .NET Core / C#.

•

Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.

•

Strong understanding of Entity Framework Core, LINQ, SQL Server, and database optimization.

•

Exposure to Azure/AWS cloud, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.

•

Experience in secure authentication (OAuth2, JWT, OpenID).

•

Working knowledge of banking or fintech domain is a strong advantage.

•

Familiarity with microservices, message brokers, and containerization.

•

Exposure to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment automation.

•

Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted/vibe coding workflows using tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar engineering assistants.

•

Understanding of software engineering best practices in modern AI-enabled development environments.

Preferred

•

Experience with API Gateway (Kong, Azure APIM).

•

Understanding of Event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing.

•

Exposure to logging and monitoring tools (ELK, Grafana, App Insights).

•

Banking, fintech, or financial services industry experience is preferred.

•

Experience working in regulated environments with secure SDLC and audit/compliance considerations.
