Zing Recruiting is partnering with a leading organization in the electromechanical and advanced industrial manufacturing industry to identify a Site Director to join their team in Charlotte, NC! This is a highly specialized executive leadership role focused on stabilizing, scaling, and transforming complex manufacturing operations across U.S. sites and European headquarters. This position is best suited for a senior-level manufacturing leader with deep operational depth and proven transformation experience in high-complexity environments.


Site Director Job Summary

  • Pay: $150K+ DOE
  • Type: Direct Hire
  • Location: Charlotte, NC (Local candidates preferred)
  • Lead stabilization and transformation of complex, high-mix manufacturing operations
  • Operate in a matrixed global structure spanning U.S. plants and European headquarters
  • Own end-to-end manufacturing performance across production, engineering, logistics, and procurement
  • Drive operational recovery and scaling in underperforming or rapidly evolving environments
  • Lead third-party and outsourced manufacturing operations (high importance)
  • Execute New Product Introduction (NPI) to serial production ramp with high reliability focus
  • Implement and mature Lean Manufacturing systems (Pull, Kanban, One-Piece Flow, Supermarkets)
  • Drive OEE recovery, TPM implementation, and preventive maintenance discipline
  • Lead advanced Quality Systems (pFMEA, Poka-Yoke, RCA, stop-the-line authority)
  • Own CI transformation frameworks (TIMWOOD, PDCA, Six Sigma methodology)
  • Manage ERP-driven production planning, procurement, and supply chain execution
  • Lead automation and electromechanical assembly optimization initiatives
  • Establish KPI governance, operational dashboards, and performance accountability systems
  • Own budgeting, CapEx strategy, and make-vs-buy decisions
  • Ensure strict EHS, OSHA, and environmental compliance execution
  • Drive sustainability initiatives (energy efficiency, waste reduction, emissions control)


Site Director Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics preferred)
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience in complex electromechanical or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated success in turnaround, stabilization, or operational transformation roles
  • Experience with high-mix and/or series production systems
  • Strong background in third-party / outsourced manufacturing oversight
  • Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing and CI execution (not theoretical—hands-on application)
  • Proven ownership of OEE, TPM, and production stability improvements
  • Strong quality leadership background (pFMEA, root cause analysis, containment, escalation systems)
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams across production, engineering, logistics, procurement
  • Proven ability to manage performance issues, rebuild accountability, and stabilize output
  • Strong financial and operational acumen (budgeting, CapEx, ROI, make-vs-buy)
  • Strong ERP-driven manufacturing system experience
  • Strong EHS and regulatory compliance leadership
  • Executive-level communication skills with ability to interface with global leadership
  • Comfortable operating in high-pressure, fast-changing environments
  • International collaboration experience (European HQ interaction required) Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Senior manufacturing leader who has actually run plants end-to-end (not advisory-only roles)
  • Proven history of turning around or stabilizing complex operations
  • Strong bias toward structure, accountability, and operational discipline
  • Comfortable operating between shop floor execution and executive strategy
  • Experienced translating global HQ strategy into local execution
  • Thrives in high-visibility, high-expectation environments requiring ownership
