Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000
Position Summary
The Accounting Analyst is responsible for carrying out various accounting functions of Property Accounting based on a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Routine functions may include, but are not limited to, recording journal entries, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accounting schedules and financial reporting. The Accounting Analyst reconciles expenditures related to construction projects across the general ledger and eBuilder.
This position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and the ability to effectively collaborate with other departments. To be proficient, this position requires a strong technical aptitude and experience with technical applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Details
- This position requires a background check for PII/Cash Handling responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- At least two (2) years of directly related experience in general accounting or specialized property accounting experience
- Experience in recording journal entries, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accounting schedules and financial reporting
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel
- Strong organization and time management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to prepare Excel worksheets, analysis and general ledger account reconciliations
- Capacity to develop excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences to include both functional and technical peers as well as the University community
- General understanding of capitalization of property, plant and equipment
- Aptitude to learn and utilize automated accounting and reporting systems
- Working knowledge of Banner fixed asset and space utilization for financial statement allocations
