Reading Country Club, located in Reading PA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time, Events Coordinator! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. This individual will work hand-in-hand with our Catering and Events Manager to execute an exceptional experience for all banqueted events. The individual will manage details and coordinate all catering-related needs of groups and special events.
Essential Duties:
- Contacts customers face-to-face, by telephone, and/or email to confirm, coordinate, and update details for scheduled events and/or parties
- Details each group’s event needs, which may include but are not limited to: menu planning, meal times, and room setup
- Conducts facility tours and site visits for groups
- Tracks guarantees and deadlines based on event requirements and timelines
- Coordinates with Marketing and Sales, as well as Food and Beverage departments, to ensure specified arrangements are carried out as planned
- Completes projects as directed in relation to the area of events and catering operations
- Assists in the coordination of department members that may include, but are not limited to: Servers, Hosts, and Set-Up staff
- Assists in monitoring business volume forecasts and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other operational needs
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction
- Assists the manager in communicating any changes or new policies and procedures to the department
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Performs other duties as required
- Ensures accurate and timely invoicing for all services rendered, including recording events in the POS system
- Associate’s degree (AA) and 1–2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Frequently stands, walks, sits, talks, and hears; regularly uses hands and reaches with hands and arms; occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, tastes, or smells
- Frequently lifts up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
- Noise level is moderate
- Driver’s License may be required
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; equipment manuals may be in English)
- Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and POS systems
- Knowledge of Delphi preferred
- Prior supervisory and management experience preferred
- Only apply with 3+ years of Banquet or F&B Management experience.
- Part time with potential to work Full time (days, nights, weekends & occasional holidays required)
- Pay rate may very from 18$-22$ depending on experience
