Main Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing methods, processes, and operations sheets for precision aerospace components, ensuring smooth flow from design intent to production execution.
- Partner with the Design and R&D team to ensure designs are manufacturable, surfacing process risks early and translating engineering specifications into floor-ready instructions.
- Analyze product specifications against manufacturing guidelines to establish quality and reliability objectives for finished products.
- Handle daily manufacturing concerns on the floor, including troubleshooting production issues and implementing procedures for the disposition of discrepant material in coordination with Quality.
- Meet regularly with Beaver staff to discuss current repair and production activities and collaborate with staff engineers to resolve production problems in a manner that maximizes product reliability and minimizes cost.
- Develop and maintain labor utilization standards, cost analyses, and production efficiency metrics to maximize use of personnel, material, and facility resources.
- Issue and review engineering change orders to maintain currency of drawings and process documentation and document production problems and resolutions.
- Apply mathematical and analytical methods to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Estimate production costs and evaluate the manufacturing impact of proposed product or process design changes, reviewing findings with leadership to control, prevent, and eliminate waste.
- Design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace using drafting tools and CAD software to implement efficient production methods.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, and orders to maintain working knowledge of manufacturing methods and activities across product lines.
- Confer with vendors, customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal staff on technical concerns, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and process improvements.
- Contact customers to discuss product concerns and make technical suggestions or modifications to products or production methods.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain on the return of defective materials and the procurement of outside services, materials, or equipment as needed.
- Represent Beaver at occasional supplier visits and industry tradeshows.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
- Background in aerospace, automotive, or another regulated precision-manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with engineering and production software, such as MS Office,SoildWorks, AutoCAD, and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
- Strong cross-functional communication skills — comfortable engaging design engineers, machinists and operators, suppliers, and customers.
- Self-directed and autonomous; able to ramp quickly on new product lines and processes with limited handholding.
- Intellectually curious — actively asks questions, surfaces issues early, and engages with the work rather than waiting to be told.
- Adaptable across varied scope of work — comfortable shifting between design support, process development, and floor-level troubleshooting as priorities change.
- ITAR eligibility — must be a U.S. Person as defined under 22 CFR 120.62.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Direct experience with ballscrews, actuators, or other precision motion-control products.
- Strong product design background — has owned or contributed meaningfully to the design of precision mechanical components and brings that perspective into manufacturing process development.
- Experience operating in an AS9100 and/or NADCAP-accredited environment.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, low-volume / high-mix precision machining, or aerospace-grade process planning.
- A track record of quickly ramping on new product lines — for example, applying learning from one motion-control product family to others.
- Owns problems end-to-end and takes initiative across functional boundaries to drive issues to resolution.
Be part of a motivating top-notch team taking Aerospace to new heights!
Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.
