Job Roles & Responsibilities
- Production & Schedule Management: Direct the full production lifecycle of doctrinal and organizational products. Utilize tracking tools to manage complex schedules, ensuring all milestones are met without compromising product quality.
- Content Strategy & Management: Oversee content management strategy, ensuring information is archived, updated, and accessible across the enterprise.
- Public Information Systems Oversight: Manage and update web-based content using the American Forces Public Information Management System (AFPIMS), ensuring all digital footprints align with DoD Public Web standards.
- Editorial Leadership: Direct, manage, and coordinate large-scale editorial initiatives. Set the standard for order, clarity, conciseness, and terminology across all organizational communications.
- Performance Management: Coordinate performance metrics related to publishing and communications, identifying bottlenecks in the development process and implementing streamlined workflows.
- High-Level Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between doctrine developers, service leads, and public affairs offices to ensure a unified and professional organizational voice.
- Travel may be required
- Doctrinal Publishing Expertise: Mastery of the Joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes.
- Production Oversight: Proven ability to manage production schedules and enforce rigid standards for style and terminology.
- CMS Mastery: Expertise in enterprise-level content management.
- AFPIMS Certification: Current certification in the DoD Public Web’s proprietary American Forces Public Information Management System (AFPIMS).
- Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and communicate complex information effectively across various echelons of command.
- Strategic Initiative Management: Extensive knowledge and ability to direct and coordinate large-scale publishing projects and organizational performance management.
- A Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management Science, or a related academic field.
- No degree required if the candidate possesses at least 10 years of demonstrated success in the communications and publishing areas listed above.
