With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
- Drive the development of leading-edge technology that shape the future of photomask metrology
- Translate customer requirements and use cases into optimized system concepts and solutions
- Analyze system requirements, develop concepts, and define key system performance indicators (KPIs)
- Perform in‑depth system characterization and create, analyze, and optimize error budgets
- Take end‑to‑end ownership of sub‑system components across the full development lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams across mechanics, electronics, software and algorithms
- Act as a technical sparring partner for internal teams, production, and customer sites
- Contribute your expertise in an international environment with occasional global assignments
- Master’s degree or higher in Physics or Engineering, ideally with a focus on metrology or system design
- Minimum 3 years of experience in systems development, preferably within the semiconductor industry
- Solid expertise in applied optics as well as measurement and control engineering, especially for mechanical systems
- Strong analytical mindset with a structured, data‑driven approach and interest in AI‑based methods
- Proven experience with error budgeting and tolerance stack‑up modeling
- Confident communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Enjoy working in diverse, international teams and complex technical environments
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 40%)
- Ability to join within a short and predictable timeframe
- EU work permit required
