About the role

HCL Tech is seeking a motivated and talented AI Python Developer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications using Java technologies. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals.

What you'll be doing

As part of IT Innovation projects, you will join the AI Factory/Innovation team as an AI Python Developer. You will be responsible for the development, integration and optimization of artificial intelligence models for various business use cases.

You will work in an agile mode, closely collaborating with Data Scientists, solution architects, and business and IT teams from other CACEIS divisions. You will play a key role in the industrialisation and deployment of AI solutions into production.

As a vibe coding expert, you have full command of generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate development while maintaining high quality standards. You are able to break down complex problems into clear instructions for the AI and to validate/optimise the generated code.

Targeted Profile : Experienced Python Developer, AI/ML expert, proficient in vibe coding, capable of rapidly developing innovative solutions with AI assistance while ensuring code quality and maintainability.

• Participation in workshops with IT/business teams and Data Scientists

• Development and optimisation of AI/ML models for business use cases

• Integration and deployment of models in production (APIs, microservices)

• Expert use of vibe coding to accelerate development without compromising quality

• Implementation of MLOps pipelines (training, versioning, monitoring)

• Automated testing and validation of models (performance, robustness, bias)

• Detailed technical documentation (code, models, APIs, reusable prompts)

• Performance optimisation (latency, costs, scalability)

• Technology watch and recommendations on new AI techniques

• Sharing of vibe coding best practices with the tea

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master degree in information technology or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Python development with an AI/ML focus

• Proven experience in vibe coding with productive use of AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT)

• Expertise in ML/DL frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face, LangChain

• Confirmed experience with LLMs (fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG, agents)

• Proficiency with Cloud platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI)

• Knowledge of MLOps technologies and CI/CD pipelines for AI models

• Skills in data engineering (preprocessing, feature engineering, data pipelines)

• Proficiency in databases (SQL, NoSQL, Vector DBs)

• Experience in API development (FastAPI, Flask, REST)

• Good knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Expertise in testing and code quality (pytest, unittest, code coverage)

• Knowledge of version control tools (Git, GitLab/GitHub)

• Nice to have: Experience in Computer Vision and/or NLP

• Malaysian Candidates Preferred
