The Product Manager is responsible for the profitable growth of the Racks and Infrastructure offering through development and delivery of innovative critical infrastructure products in datacom, colocation, and enterprise data centers. This product line is typically marketed and sold through our global network of electrical, datacom, and IT distributors and integrators. Objectives include leading revenue, product line strategy, market share, pricing, and marketing. The position is cross-functional with responsibility working with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Distribution Channels.
Essential Job Functions:
- With management partnership, responsible for the overall product life cycle
- Shared accountability for the product line P&L, including revenue attainment, gross margin and operating income
- Supports sales and marketing efforts by assisting in research of market opportunities and competitive analysis
- Work with Sales and Marketing to develop strategic positioning
- Leads technology and product roadmap development
- Develops product definition including price recommendations, cost and performance objectives, reliability and functional features, manufacturability, and life cycle forecasts
- Facilitation of tools development, content creation, and data management for Customers, Partners, and other Stakeholders.
- Prepares technical databases for proposal generation
- Develops and conducts product, market and application training
- Ensures successful transition to manufacturing
- Supports sales enablement through joint sales calls.
- Monitors P&L, evaluating, recommending and initiating cost reductions, discount analyses and inventory levels
Requirements:
- Deep familiarity with deployment and management of solutions in datacom and data center settings is required
- In Person Position. Knoxville, TN
- Strong interaction with Channel Partner ecosystem
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to articulate complex concepts to a broad range of internal and external audiences.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with several types and levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally.
- Travel as needed.
- Ability to work simultaneously on many priorities, which change frequently.
- Assertive, persuasive and creative problem-solving skills
