A small, high-growth medical device company is adding a Product Marketing Manager role to their team. They have a portfolio of surgical capital equipment products that offer strong benefits to the patient and HCP for orthopedic, spine and trauma procedures. They’ve experienced strong YOY growth the last few years and are stable and well-resourced. Their company culture is known for its collaborative workstyle, with a strong emphasis on coaching and growth. This culture has created an environment where the average employee tenure is well over 10 years.
They are growing and are expanding their strategic marketing team with a newly created marketing role. In this role, you’ll act as a true franchise owner, focusing on both upstream and downstream marketing for a products used in orthopedic and trauma surgeries.
The Opportunity:
In this Product Manager role, you’ll focus on upstream, go-to-market and downstream marketing. You’ll work closely with R&D/engineering to design, develop and launch products for a growing portfolio. You will own VOC activities, capture physician feedback and create segmentation/positioning for surgical capital equipment. You will also determine unmet needs and build business cases for both new offerings and next gen products. You’ll optimize the portfolio, create go-to-market strategies and launch plans for multiple upcoming launches. You’ll also work on long-range portfolio strategy to evaluate the technology for other indications and unmet needs.
On the downstream side you will create strategies and tactics to drive adoption across multiple global markets. You’ll lead product launches, develop sales enablement tools, understand the competitive market dynamics and serve as a product subject matter expert. You’ll develop and manage budgets and provide forecasting for the products.

This role reports into the Director of Marketing; the team is small, the culture rewards innovation and the company is rapidly growing. The hiring manager has a focus on coaching and mentoring and career development is strong in the growing org chart.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years marketing experience in medical device
- Upstream and downstream marketing experience with a surgical product
- Previous experience with orthopedic or trauma products is a strong plus
- A bachelor’s degree or better is required, MBA is preferred
This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area with a hybrid workstyle. Relocation assistance is available.
