Established Fortune 500 company entering the Pacific Northwest market seeking -
A Vice President of Sales for building materials products will drive new revenue growth, establish market share strategy, and implement go to market and sales strategy for building materials, equipment and technologies. They lead high-performing leader will also establish a new sales and marketing strategy, establish sales targets, manage key relationships with contractors/distributors, and align sales initiatives with company goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement annual sales plans, forecasting, and pricing strategies to achieve revenue goals and increase market share.
- Sales Leadership & Team Management: Hire, train, and mentor sales staff (OSR/ISR) and regional managers, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, including distributors, contractors, architects, and developers.
- Market Analysis & Expansion: Identify new market opportunities, monitor competitor activities, and adapt strategies to changing market conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, operations, product management, and finance to align sales with production capabilities and inventory.
- Performance Reporting: Analyze sales data to report on progress, budget, and profitability to the executive team.
Typical Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is often preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5+ years in sales leadership within the construction, building materials, or manufacturing industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, product applications, and dealer networks.
- Skills: Proven ability to manage long, technical sales cycles, Salesforce-CRM proficiency, exceptional leadership, and communication skills.
- Travel: 25-35% within the Pacific Northwest.
