Dohrn is currently seeking a Full Time Rates & Billing Representative I at our corporate office in Rock Island, IL.
Hours Monday - Friday, 800am - 430pm
Pay $18.50/Hour

POSITION SUMMARY
To review all incomplete bills and collect information in order to complete those bills, in addition to cutting corrections to incorrect bills.
Essential Duties
- Manage the unposted list to ensure all freight bills (both interline and non-interline) are invoiced timely with proper freight charges and splits are applied
- Help answer billing phone calls
- Help work the [email protected] email group as needed
- Understand various pricing schedules, rules, and split agreements between Dohrn Transfer and our customer and/or partner carriers
- Understand the proper National Motor Freight Classification descriptions; including, but not limited to determining densities
- Analyze the inspections performed around the system and effectively communicate to ensure a successful operation
- Be the backup for warehouse transportation invoicing
- Assist with corrections to unposted shipments as needed
- May be involved in reviewing pickup verification for partnership routing
- May be involved in reviewing the skeleton bill list daily to complete all customer invoicing
- High School completion or equivalent
- Valid Driver License
- Excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
- Transportation industry experience preferred
- Detail-oriented, organized
- Strong typing and ten-key skills are required
- Analytical thinker and problem-solver
- Ability to multi-task and react to change productively
- Ability to read and distinguish numerical values such as pounds, pieces, and dollar amounts
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attendance
- Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
- May be occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
- Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
- Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
