Reports To: Director of Engineering Positions Supervised: Yes
Work Schedule: M-F 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; and overtime hours as needed.
General Description
This position is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process and finished goods for conformance to quality control standards. This position oversees the quality area to ensure quality processes are maintained and followed.
Principle Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections on the plant floor. Ensure the inspection and sampling of the manufacturing process takes place including; incoming, in-process and final inspections.
- Determine acceptance or rejection of incoming raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods.
- Ensure quality procedures are understood and followed throughout the plant.
- Notify appropriate departments and personnel of product deficiencies to enable expeditious resolution of problem.
- For return products, verify acceptability of product and report discrepancies as appropriate.
- Work with Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing to identify root cause, corrective action and preventive procedures.
- Maintain quality procedures and quality reports as needed.
- Visit various suppliers for audit review purposes, as needed.
- Arrange for coverage of quality personnel as needed in regard to overtime and time off.
- Oversee employee performance. Effectively communicate work expectations. Administer employee review yearly and written communications if needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes and the documentation of those processes.
- Be an effective team player. Interact and work cross-functionally with all MDI departments.
- Abide by all Company and government regulatory safety regulations.

- All other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others to foster a positive work environment.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Experience performing on floor daily inspections.
- Ability to read and work from engineering prints.
- Proficient in metrology and the use of various inspection devices.
- Experience working with manufacturing to implement quality processes.
- Experience auditing quality for suppliers, preferred.
- Exceptional leadership skills to ensure employees follow quality procedures.
Education
- Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience working with ERP Software (Enterprise Resource Planning)
