Senior Project Manager / Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage Facility
Location: Greater Boston, MA
Compensation: Competitive base salary + bonus + full benefits package
A leading Northeast heavy civil, utility, and energy infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager or high-level Project Manager to support delivery of a major $400M battery energy storage facility currently underway in the Boston area.
This is a flagship energy infrastructure project with long-term pipeline potential across power, utility, and grid modernization markets. The company has built a strong reputation delivering complex civil, utility, and energy infrastructure projects throughout the Northeast and continues to expand its presence within the power generation and renewable energy sector.
The ideal candidate will bring strong civil construction experience with enough electrical infrastructure exposure to effectively manage coordination, sequencing, subcontractors, and client interfaces on large-scale energy projects. Direct self-perform electrical experience is not required, as electrical scopes are subcontracted, but familiarity with utility power systems, substations, medium/high voltage work, or industrial electrical packages is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project execution for a large-scale battery energy storage facility from construction through turnover
- Manage schedule, budget, subcontractors, procurement, risk, and client relationships
- Coordinate civil, utility, and electrical scopes across multiple stakeholders
- Oversee field operations alongside Superintendents and project teams
- Drive safety, quality, and project controls throughout execution
- Support forecasting, reporting, change management, and cost tracking
- Interface with owners, engineers, utilities, and EPC partners
Desired Background
- 7–15+ years of construction project management experience
- Strong background in heavy civil, utility, industrial, or energy infrastructure projects
- Experience on power generation, renewable energy, battery storage, substations, utility, or industrial EPC projects strongly preferred
- Ability to manage complex subcontractor-driven scopes
- EPC or design-build project delivery experience is a plus
- Strong commercial and operational leadership skills
- Experience managing large-scale projects ($100M+ preferred)
Why This Opportunity?
- High-profile $400M energy infrastructure project already in hand
- Long-term growth within the power and utility infrastructure sector
- Strong backlog across renewable energy, grid modernization, utility, and civil infrastructure work
- Established contractor with deep regional relationships and a strong reputation for complex infrastructure delivery
- Opportunity to play a major role in the expanding battery storage and energy transition market
