Project Overview
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.
Job Summary
In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.
Major Responsibilities
- Monitoring and organizing subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.
- Role supporting on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
- Monitoring subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Reviewing subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Coordinating the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
- Monitoring installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
- Enforcing policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
- Supporting Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
- Coordinating engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Coordinating with Design on constructability issues.
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Technical knowledge of earthworks, roads and drainage on M&M projects, including open-cut excavation, trenching, grading and general construction work, ensures work is buildable and compliant.
- Experience in self-perform concrete activities, including formwork, rebar, embed installation, and placement.
- Works with Construction Field Engineers and subcontractors, interpreting engineering design documents, supplier documents, and other technical documents.
- Knowledge of underground commodity installation including piping, electrical ductbank, and precast commodities desirable.
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Coordinates with field engineer and subcontractor on constructability issues.
- Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
