Role Description

GummyWorks is seeking a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant to join our team in West Palm Beach, FL. The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day operational accounting functions, serving as a key contributor to month-end close, billing, accounts receivable, and credit and collections activities, while also supporting oversight of accounts payable operations.

This role will play a critical part in the Company’s ongoing Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP implementation, with direct involvement in AP, AR, and billing module configuration, testing, and long-term process optimization. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with cross-functional collaboration across finance, operations, and leadership teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesBilling, Accounts Receivable & Collections

• Own the end-to-end customer billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, including deposit invoices
• Maintain customer deposit schedules and apply deposits to corresponding invoices accurately and promptly
• Ensure all completed production orders are invoiced within the appropriate accounting period, meeting monthly cutoff deadlines
• Manage the credit and collections process, including monitoring AR aging, enforcing customer credit limits, and escalating delinquent accounts when necessary
• Review and analyze customer credit applications, including D&B reports, and prepare credit recommendations for CFO approval
• Calculate and record monthly bad debt reserves and sales return reserves in accordance with company policy
• Report monthly DSO and AR aging metrics, including commentary on collection trends and risks
• Perform daily cash application activities and ensure receipts are posted accurately

Month-End Close

• Own and execute the month-end close process, including maintaining and managing the close calendar
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline close procedures and reduce days-to-close over time
• Prepare and certify bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items
• Reconcile credit card activity and maintain supporting schedules
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and execute monthly amortization entries
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, process monthly depreciation, and prepare fixed asset roll-forward schedules
• Prepare and review accrued liabilities schedules to ensure completeness and proper cutoff
• Prepare and post recurring, accrual, and standard journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive hands-on accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks; experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, filters, and account reconciliations
• Strong understanding of operational accounting processes, including AR, billing, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience in manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, nutraceuticals, or health and wellness industries is a plus
