About The Role
Are you an experienced account manager who thrives on building new business relationships and driving commercial growth? We are looking for an energetic National Account Manager to bring sharp sales instinct, fresh thinking and commercial drive to our Sales team, to help accelerate our emerging sales business.
Reporting to the National Business Manager for Independents & Emerging markets, this role will be responsible for building exceptional relationships in a broad range of areas such as convenience and non-grocery channels; creating joint business plans and elevating Openway through ambitious growth plans. This is a customer-facing role, which will be predominantly based out of our demand hub in Cremorne.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships by providing exceptional service to deliver mutually beneficial commercial outcomes focusing on growth, profitability, and market share. This incudes ensuring you demonstrate understanding of the customer’s specific strategies and requirements, with the ability to flex to meet these.
- Playing an active role in developing the strategic 3-year category growth plan.
- Ensuring Openway optimises trade investment, bringing forward-thinking approaches to category management, promotional planning and creating a pathway for profitable NPD.
- Managing budgets and trade spend optimisation to drive cost-effective results and account performance.
- Participating in the range review process and S&OP cycle, demonstrating strong commercial acumen.
About You
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and has a passion for creating new business relationships; who is agile and able to adapt to competing priorities and differing customer requirements. This is a truly exciting opportunity for someone to play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable growth for the business.
You will have:
- Proven experience in building new sales relationships (ideally within convenience or alternative channels to the major grocers) in a National or Key Account Management role.
- Bachelor’s degree in business (preferred but not essential)
- Strong commercial acumen, planning, and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to create high quality, insightful presentations
- Ability to influence and build productive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good knowledge and experience of category review process and planning
- Knowledge of price management and sensitivities, and NPD development process
