This national advocacy organization works to expand educational opportunity and empower families with more choice in education. The team operates at the intersection of policy, communications, and public leadership—working across states and communities to influence how education policy is discussed and advanced nationwide.
The organization is mission-driven, fast-moving, and deeply invested in shaping public conversations around educational freedom and opportunity.
The Role
This is a high-trust, high-exposure role working directly with the CEO to help move priority initiatives forward while supporting how the CEO shows up publicly across digital platforms.
You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy, execution, research, writing, and communications. The work includes everything from helping drive strategic projects to shaping digital content and messaging.
You’ll be close to leadership decisions, policy conversations, board materials, donor communications, and public-facing content. The right person is both thoughtful and scrappy—someone who can think strategically, execute quickly, and communicate clearly.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Projects & Execution (60%)
- Partner closely with the CEO to move key initiatives and special projects forward
- Translate high-level ideas into clear plans, timelines, and ownership
- Build reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, boards, and donors
- Research policy developments and synthesize insights into clear takeaways
- Draft and edit written content for the CEO (blogs, statements, thought leadership)
- Track timelines and follow-through so important work actually gets done
Digital & Communications (40%)
- Help manage and shape the CEO’s presence across social platforms (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
- Create engaging content that reflects the CEO’s voice and the organization’s mission. Experience in video production is a plus.
- Develop posts, graphics, short-form videos, and timely commentary on policy news
- Monitor public conversations and identify opportunities for CEO engagement
- Partner with the organization’s communications team to keep messaging consistent
- Track social media metrics and provide regular performance reports
- Support media appearances by creating complementary digital content

Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, Journalism, or a related field
- Experience in communications, policy, project management, advocacy, or related roles
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience creating and managing social media content
- Comfort with basic design tools and social platforms
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment
- Interest in education policy and school choice
Nice to Have
- Video editing or content production experience
- Experience supporting executive-level leaders
- Background in advocacy organizations, campaigns, or public policy
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
