The Role

Are you an innovative engineer passionate about driving new product development and collaborating directly with customers? We are seeking a dynamic Product Engineer to lead the research, development, and integration of new products into our advanced manufacturing processes.

In this critical role, you will be the bridge between our business development team, manufacturing operations, and our customers. You will have the autonomy to guide the growth of new product offerings, solve complex problems, and act as the technical liaison for new programs. Key Responsibilities

• Product Development & Research: Lead the research and development of new products identified by the business development team, determining their feasibility for our production processes.
• Customer Collaboration: Act as the primary technical liaison, interfacing directly with customer Product Engineering and Business Development teams to integrate new programs and build lasting, trusted relationships.
• Launch Leadership: Lead and support Program Management in launching new programs and implementing product changes, including the development of Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering specifications, and supplier complexity analysis.
• Failure Mode Analysis: Research and analyze common failure modes within new products to develop a deep understanding of component durability and lifecycle.
• Cross-Functional Teamwork: Engage frequently with manufacturing, program engineering, materials, and support teams to ensure smooth new product launches. Participate in Supplier Development activities with Quality departments.
• Documentation & Systems Adaptation: Maintain critical documents (revisions, BOM updates, change orders) to adapt internal resources to customer systems and notifications.
• Stakeholder Communication: Develop presentations and effectively communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders, understanding the best communication methods for various situations.
• Safety Leadership: Champion safety awareness in all daily tasks, advancing a culture of safety by integrating improvements wherever practical.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related physical science discipline.
• Experience: Proven experience bringing new products to market, specifically through close customer collaboration. (7-10 years of experience integrating new products and managing project timelines/costs is highly preferred).
• Industry Knowledge: Strong background or knowledge base related to complex mechanical systems or heavy machinery is a significant plus.
• Technical Expertise: A thorough understanding of operational theory and components related to complex mechanical assemblies and power transfer systems.
• Analytical Skills: High-level analytical ability to solve unusual, complex, and difficult problems where only limited standardization exists.
• Communication: Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to influence teams, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively with front-line workers, executives, and clients.
• Computer Proficiency: Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and design software applications.
• Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents, machine drawings, blueprints, and wiring/electrical schematics.
