This is a high-impact volunteer role for local NH Seacoast community members who want to influence the future of affordable, high-quality childcare and education for working families in our region.

  • Term: 3 years (eligible for two consecutive terms).

As a Board Member, you will provide the strategic "north star" for Great Bay Kids, ensuring fiduciary health, legal integrity, and long-term growth.

Strategic Governance & Oversight

  • Executive Support: Hire, support, and evaluate the Executive Director.
  • Fiduciary Duty: Approve the annual budget, monitor financial health, and ensure rigorous legal and ethical compliance.

  • Commitment: attend Board meetings; participate in committee/task force leadership.
  • Voice: Provide active, honest input during deliberations and vote on key organizational matters.

Advocacy & Ambassadorship

  • Representation: Serve as a spokesperson for early childhood education and GBK’s regional impact.
  • Networking: Leverage professional and personal connections to build partnerships and influence public policy.
  • Recruitment: Identify and mentor a diverse pipeline of future volunteers and board leaders.

Philanthropic Leadership

  • Resource Development: Secure the financial partnerships required for organizational growth.
  • Donor Cultivation: Actively open doors and foster relationships with potential donors.
  • Priority: Champion GBK as a premier philanthropic choice for regional giving.

We are looking for community members who bring a "Board-level" mindset—focusing on governance rather than management. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Professional Expertise: Specifically in areas such as Finance, Law, Early Education, Marketing, Fundraising or Business Operations.
  • Collaborative Spirit: The ability to engage in candid, constructive debate while moving forward with a unified Board voice.
  • Integrity: A commitment to strict confidentiality and the highest ethical standards.
  • Passion: A sincere interest in the challenges facing the modern workforce and the developmental needs of children.
